Community Services Block Grant (CSBG)
Assisting New Yorkers
The Division of Community Services channels funding to non-profit organizations dedicated to helping low-income and disadvantaged families across New York State with necessary services, including employment assistance and training, emergency food and housing, child care, home heating and much more.
The Division of Community Services is not just a funding source but a partner in the fight against poverty. We work hand in hand with communities, pooling our resources and expertise to make a real difference in the lives of low-income families across New York State.

Community Action Agencies
How It Works
New York State funds designated Community Action Agencies (CAAs) who work with eligible individuals to help them gain increased self-sufficiency, improved living conditions. A core tenet of CSBG is providing services that strengthen communities, family and local support systems.
Assistance
Your local CSBG funded agency may be able to assist you in obtaining a job, find stable housing, identify reliable child care, nutritional needs or help you during a time of crisis. For further information, please click below to contact your local CAA.
Eligibility
All individuals and families who wish to participate in CSBG funded services must have a household income at or below 200% of the currently established Federal Poverty Guidelines.
