Our Mission
The New York State Division of Community Services (DCS) seeks to combat poverty among poor and low-income families through proper administration and distribution of Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) funds throughout New York State.
Core Services
Division of Community Services works with an extensive network of regional agencies to foster and promote poverty-reduction services, such as: employment and training, education, housing, emergency food and child care.
Who We Serve
The Division of Community Services focuses on aiding low-income and poor New York State residents obtain the services they need through Community Action Agencies and other Community Services Block Grant funded entities. DCS monitors and tracks agencies’ progress in fulfillment of goals, while also ensuring compliance to CSBG guidelines.
