What We Do

The Division of Local Government Services (DGLS) is committed to providing training and technical assistance, largely to local government officials and boards. We provide training on governmental administration, land use planning, regulation and procedure, and community development.

Our Local Government Efficiency (LGE) grant program provides funding opportunities for intermunicipal shared services and consolidation of resources to help save money and deliver efficient and superior services.

Additionally, we support regionally focused community and economic development organizations such as the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC), the Northern Border Regional Commission (NBRC), and the New York City Watershed Program.
