The feedback provided during this hearing will be used to determine if more cease-and-desist zones are necessary in Brooklyn to help prevent aggressive real estate solicitation from brokers, agents or real estate speculators that target private residences.
After the public hearing and investigation are complete, the Department of State will determine whether homeowners within a defined geographic area are subject to intense and repeated solicitation to sell their property. If so, a cease and desist order may be issued.
