The Department offers various grant funding opportunities to help bolster New York’s communities and vulnerable citizens. These opportunities range from streamlining local governments through the Local Government Efficiency Program to helping local governments revitalize their communities and reconnect to their waterway through the Environmental Protection Fund Local Waterfront Revitalization Program. The Department also offers the Brownfield Opportunity Area program for communities interested in redeveloping brownfields and manages the Community Services Block Grant program to fight poverty and empower low-income families across the state, the Office for New Americans, and more.
