Effective March 27, 2020, pursuant to Executive Order 202.11, any license issued by the Division of Licensing Services or New York State Athletic Commission, that expires after that date, shall remain in effect until July 5, 2021. Any license holder that is eligible to renew and does not need the extension is encouraged to do so; all other license holders may rely on the above extensions.
Combat sports in New York State are sanctioned and regulated by the New York State Athletic Commission, which ensures the health and safety of participants and the integrity of the contests. The Athletic Commission licenses all participants, including fighters, seconds, promoters and more, and employs the officials at each contest. The Commission is committed to health, safety, and integrity with standardized protocols at ringside, enhanced medical screening procedures and strong, effective leadership.
