Overview
The Chautauqua Lake Local Waterfront Revitalization Program (LWRP) is a locally prepared long-term management program for the shores of Chautauqua Lake within the Town of Busti, Town of Chautauqua, Town of Ellery, Town of Ellicott, Town of North Harmony, Village of Bemus Point, Village of Celoron, Village of Lakewood, and Village of Mayville.
The Chautauqua Lake LWRP provides a comprehensive framework within which critical waterfront issues can be addressed, and planned waterfront improvement projects can be pursued and implemented, with a focus on long-term intermunicipal cooperation that would enable participating communities to complement each other's efforts to address general development concerns and identify new economic opportunities around Chautauqua Lake while preserving its natural resources and developing a strong regional identity. The Chautauqua Lake LWRP was adopted by each of the participating municipalities and then approved by the New York State Secretary of State on March 16, 2011.
