Local Government Services provides training and technical assistance to local governments & community organizations.
The Division of Local Government Services is committed to providing:


Training and Technical Assistance, largely to local government officials and boards. We provide training on basic governmental administration, land use planning, regulation and procedure, and community development.

Local Government Efficiency (LGE) grant programs which focus on the value of shared services and consolidation as strategies for cost containment and service improvement.

Support for regionally-focused community and economic development organizations such as the Appalachian Regional Commission, the Northern Border Regional Commission, and the Regional Economic Development Councils
